SHILLONG: The State Government has finally zeroed in on the land at Umran Diary behind RRTC in Ri Bhoi district for setting up of the headquarter of the 6th Battalion of Meghalaya police.

The total area which is available at the proposed land at Umran Diary for setting up of the 6th Battalion headquarters is around 300 acres, official sources informed on Sunday.

“But the exact area which is available for acquisition would be known once the mapping and survey is completed,” the official sources said, adding that the Government would start the process of land acquisition as soon as the survey and mapping of the area is completed.
