One abducted in West Garo Hills
A group of around seven armed miscreants waylaid a vehicle (Tata Magic, ML-08A-8804) and abducted one Mehel Jamil SK besides looting cash amounting to Rs 2,5,0000 from the passengers. The vehicle was on its way to Tikrikilla, West Garo Hills. Police investigation is on.
Thunderstorms likely to hit State
The North Eastern region including Meghalaya is likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by wind up and above speed of 50 km per hour in the next two days, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Guwahati informed on Tuesday. While warning that Meghalaya can also witness similar thunderstorms in the next 48 hours, the Weatherman at the RMC said that residents should maintain alert as the thunderstorm is expected to exceed speed of 50 km per hour.
Medical seminar

Unclaimed body
Authorities of the Shillong Civil Hospital have informed that the body of one Joren Nongkhlaw (70), of Umran Dairy, who was admitted at the Hospital on April 4 and died on April 14, has remained unclaimed so far. The officials have asked the relatives of the deceased to collect the body from the hospital morgue within three days failing which the body would be disposed off by the Shillong Municipal Board.
