SHILLONG: In two separate cases of producing fake birth certificates in the city, senior government officials have filed FIR against the deceivers.
Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), East Khasi Hills ML Marak lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar Police Station that one Raghubansh Ray submitted a fake birth certificate supposedly issued by Registrar of Births and Deaths, Shillong Municipal Board, Shillong.
In another such incident, AS Mukhim, MCS, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer and EAC (Election), East Khasi Hills lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that one Moni Thapa had submitted a fake birth certificate while applying for EPIC. Both the matters are under police investigation.
