Misappropriation of mid day meal fund

 AMPATI: The Garo Student’s Union, Western Zone, Ampati, has accused the former Deputy Inspector of Schools of misappropriation of funds meant for mid day meal in various primary schools in Ampati Sub Division, West Garo Hills.

The GSU, Ampati, in a communiqué stated that the All Garo Hills Primary Schools Teacher Association (AGHPSTA) came to know of the alleged withdrawal of fund meant for mid day meal scheme by the Deputy Inspector of Schools when the Principals and headmasters of concerned Primary schools updated the joint account pass book at the bank. The AGHPSTA alleged that the fund has been sanctioned to various primary schools of Ampati Sub Division in paper only and that till date the actual fund has not reached any of the concerned Primary Schools. The GSU has urged concerned authorities to immediately look into the matter and conduct a Judicial inquiry against the former DI for his involvement in the embezzlement of funds meant for mid day meal scheme in various Primary Schools of Ampati Civil Sub Division.
