Washington: Michael Douglas is all set to return to the big screen in ensemble comedy ‘Las Vegas’ after winning the battle against throat cancer.
The 67-year-old actor, who is married to 42-year-old actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, will essay the role of an ageing ladies man who is in denial about becoming old, but he settles down and ties the knot with a woman half his age, Contactmusic reported.
Douglas was previously linked with the movie three years ago, but he was diagnosed with cancer in August 2010 and he took time out from acting to fight the disease.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’ writer Dan Fogelman will write down the script for the movie, which Dustin Hoffman and Christopher Walken have both been linked to, and John Turteltaub will direct the project.
The flick tells the story of Douglas’ alter-ego inviting his three childhood best friends to party with him on his Las Vegas stag night, which leads to tension after it emerges two of the men loved the same woman when they were teenagers.
Douglas’ was last seen in Steven Soderbergh’s action movie ‘Haywire’, which was shot in early 2010 and released earlier this year. (ANI)
