Inter-School cricket: Shillong Sec, St Anthony’s register wins

SHILLONG: Shillong Secondary School defeated Ruprekha School by 53 runs, while St Anthony’s Junior School edged past Garo Union School by three wickets in the 7th IP Das Memorial and 3rd Ondromoni Dkhar Memorial Inter-School Cricket Tournament at Cricket Ground, Polo on Monday. In the first match, Ruprekha put Shillong Secondary to bat first after winning the toss. The bowlers did well to restrict Shillong Secondary to a modest 116 for the loss of 10 wickets in 25 overs. In reply, Ruprekha were bundled out for 64 in 15.2 overs. S Marak with four wickets was the pick of the bowlers for Shillong Secondary. In the second match, Garo Union School elected to bat first against St Anthony’s scoring 113 for the loss of 10 wickets in 22.3 overs. Rikalchon R Marak scored 21run from 14 balls while Vishal grabbed two wickets. In reply, St Anthony’s reached the target in 23.4 overs losing seven wickets in the process. Vishal, in an all-round performance, scored a steady 32 of 37 balls. Nikrak M Sangma took two wickets for Garo Union.
