London: Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton will run in next year’s London Marathon, Prince Harry has revealed.

“I have been trying to get myself a place for years. I can’t get myself a place. What do you have to do? What’s fantastic is that my brother and his wife will be doing it next year, I think,” Prince Harry, the third-in-line to the British throne, was quoted as telling the ‘BBC’. Amazed at the news, BBC’s Sue Barker responded: “You’ve just said that live on air.”

Harry, known for his sense of humour, declared: “He’s going to have to do it now, isn’t he?” However, the announcement may have come as a surprise to 29-year-old William and 30-year-old Kate. A Clarence House spokesman has said that the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge had no firm plans to enter the race, adding, “It was said in jest.” (PTI)
