Shops gutted

 NONGSTOIN: Ten shops were reduced to ashes in Nongstoin Lad Rambrai at around 1 AM on Wednesday.

All the shops closely located were built out of wooden planks and within no time caught fire and were consequently reduced to ashes.

Eye-witnesses and sources informed that the fire appeared to have ignited from the tobacco shop.No one was hurt in the incident.

It was only after the neighbours saw the flames that the police were informed.The prompt action of the Fire Department saved many valuables from the blazing inferno.

The actual cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
