Cop working for GNLA held

 SHILLONG: A police personnel who was working as an over ground worker of the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) was apprehended by the SWAT team of the State Police from his place of posting at Bholaganj here on Friday.

The arrested person has been identified as unarmed branch constable Alex Grahambel Marak from East Garo Hills.

The SWAT team also recovered ten GNLA demand notes, three mobile phones and four SIM cards besides other indiscriminating documents from his possession.

In a joint operation, Meghalaya and Assam police arrested a youth from Guwahati for allegedly aiding the banned GNLA in printing demand notes for the outfit, police sources said on Friday.

The youth Md Sajjid Khan of Hatigaon was arrested and a computer and printer were seized from his possession, West Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police R Muthu informed. (With inputs from PTI)
