Imphal: The keenly awaited expansion of ministry of the Congress government in Manipur will most probably take place today, according to a highly reliable source.

The expansion of the ministry is most likely to take place by tomorrow afternoon as chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh has been asked to submit the list of MLAs who are to be inducted into the cabinet to the governor of Manipur Gurbachan Jagat by 10:30 am on Saturday, said the source.

Meanwhile, Manipur home minister, Gaikhangam said to reporters after a cabinet meeting at his official quarter that he had no knowledge about the expansion of the ministry.

He stated that the three hour long cabinet meeting did not discuss about the expansion of the ministry, it discussed the approaching election of Panchayati Raj, and so he had no knowledge about the expansion of the ministry.

The exact date and time for the expansion of the Ibobi Singh ministry is not disclosed because there is a lot of lobbying for a berth in the ministry by elected Congress MLAs, said another reliable source in the Congress. (NNN)
