One dead in freak incident

 SHILLONG: Thirty-year-old Anita Lyngdoh of Kharmalki, Malki died on the spot after she accidently fell into a deep gorge at Lummawbah, Upper Shillong on Saturday night.

Police informed that the deceased was on her way to her sister’s house at Lummawbah along with some friends.

On reaching the approach road to Lummawbah, the deceased came out of the vehicle she was travelling on to relieve herself, police informed, adding that she accidentally slipped and fell into the gorge which led to her death.

Following the incident, her friends rushed to Lummawbah and informed her relatives of the incident.

Later, residents of the locality along with the police managed to pull the dead body out of the gorge on Saturday night itself.
