One killed, four injured in road mishap

 SHILLONG: A teenager died on the spot while four others sustained injuries when the Maruti 800 (MLO5C – 2332) went off the road and fell into a gorge at Nongumlong (2km away from Umlyngka) under Mylliem Block, East Khasi Hills at around 4.30pm on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Joylang Ryntathiang (16) and the driver of the Maruti, Keny Syiemlieh (23) was admitted in Shillong Civil Hospital while other two occupants were admitted in Ganesh Das hospital for medical treatment.

In another accident case, a truck driver (NLO5D – 9722) sustained injuries after the truck was hit on the driver side by a bus (MLO5H – 9798) coming from the opposite direction near the Military Hospital Gate at Rilbong on Sunday at 2:50am.

The injured, Mohan Singh (41years/male) and the helper of the bus Visas Shadap (23years /male) were shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital by the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance.

In another case, a Maruti Swift Desire (MLO5H – 6001) travelling towards Tura overturned, hit the side of a bridge and went off the road at Dingok near Bajengdoba under Resubelpara Block, East Garo Hills on Sunday at 2:10am.
