Inter-School cricket: St Edmund’s, Laban Boys register wins

SHILLONG: St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School defeated B.K.Bajoria HS School by 32 runs and Laban Bengalee Boys HS School thumped St. Xavier’s School by 10 wickets in the 7th I.P. Das Memorial & 4th Babu Ondromoni Dkhar Memorial Inter-School Cricket tournament at Cricket Ground, Polo on Wednesday. In the first match St. Edmund’s won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 121 runs for the loss of six wickets in 21 overs. Abhay top scored with 33 of 40 balls while Sujit grabbed four wickets for 24 runs of four overs. In reply, B.K.Bajoria were bundled out for 99 runs in 20 overs. Danish was the pick of the bowlers for St Edmund’s with four wickets from his four overs. In the second match St Xaviers’ decision to bat first backfired as they were restricted to a paltry 44 runs in 15.3 overs. Shiva maintained excellent figures of 4/30 for the bowling side. In reply, Laban Bengalee Boys HS School eased home in 12.3 overs with all their wickets intact.
