CM releases MUA Govt’s report card

 SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma released the performance report of the Congress-led MUA Government — Promises Kept (The Vision Endures – The Pledge Continues) — at a function in city on Thursday.

The MUA-II Government led by Dr Sangma completed second year in office on April 20 last.

The Government could not release the report earlier due to some delay in its compilation.

The Government later fixed to release the report on April 25 last. But due to the law and order problem plus the death of Chief Minister’s niece Dana Silva M Sangma under mysterious circumstances led to the postponement of the release of the report.

Meanwhile, while releasing the performance report, Dr Sangma said that the main objective to release this report is to inform people that the Government has been able to fulfill the promises which it had made.

Stating that this Government is making an earnest effort to ensure that the various programmes which it has launched has the visibility on the ground, the Chief Minister said, “It is futile to launch any programme if the people at the ground level are not benefitted.”

The Chief Minister thanked the coalition partners in the Government for their cooperation and support in ensuring development in the State.

Meanwhile, in the foreword of the progress report, Chief Minister has said, “On the day I assumed office, I made a set of promises: sincere efforts to improve the lots of the underprivileged; optimal use of natural and human resources and modern yet flexible institutions – stressing that all development would be put on a mission mode. True to our word, we have toiled relentlessly and the results are there for all to see. We remain steadfast in our zeal and unshakeable in our resolve”.

Among others who spoke on the occasion were Deputy Chief Ministers, Rowell Lyngdoh and B M Lanong and Information Technology Minister A L Hek.

It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister had released a report card on the completion of one year of his government titled “360 degree development in 365 days” last year.
