Inter-school cricket: BK Bajoria, Laban Boys register wins

SHILLONG: B.K.Bajoria Higher Secondary School defeated St.Xaviers Higher Secondary School by 25 runs while Laban Bengalee Boys Higher Secondary School edged past Jail Road Boys Higher Secondary School by eight runs in the 7th I.P. Das Memorial & 4th Babu Ondromoni Dkhar Memorial Inter-School cricket tournament at Cricket Ground, Polo on Saturday. In the first match St.Xaviers won the toss and elected to field first. Their bowlers did well to restrict Bajoria to 93 runs in 23 overs. Jojorang took two wickets for 11 runs. In reply, St Xaviers were bundled out for 68 runs in 16.2 overs. Sunny was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/11. Put into bat in the second match, Laban Bengalee Boys piled up a total of 133 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 23 overs. Bijon top scored with 38 runs of 42 balls while Washid grabbed three wickets for 26 runs. In reply, Jail Road Boys fell short of the target by five runs losing nine wickets in the process. Uday scored 34 of 39 balls while Chandan took 3 wickets for 23 runs
