150th birth anniversary of Tagore

 SHILLONG: The Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Shillong is celebrating the concluding ceremony of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s 150th birth anniversary on Wednesday at Brookside cottage, cultural compound at Rilbong.

A musical ensemble will be presented by a group of 150 rabindra sangeet singers at 8.00 a.m. at Brookside Cottage. In the evening, at 6.00 p.m., ‘sangam’ – three classical dance forms of india – mohiniyattam, manipuri & odissi which were Tagore’s favourite, will be showcased.

Artistes have come from Kerala, Manipur & Odissa to perform for the occasion.
