SHILLONG: After his outstanding performance in the recently concluded I-League, Shillong Lajong FC main stopper back Wailadmi Passah has got offers from as many as three big clubs of the country.

I-League teams Dempo FC, Salgaocar FC and Mumbai FC have shown interest in Passah, who still has about a year of his contract left with SLFC. The star defender has been associated with Lajong since the 2008-2009 season after the club was relegated from the I-League following its maiden entry.

When contacted, Passah confirmed that he has got a call from Dempo team management few days back expressing their desire to sign him for the next season.

“Dempo is one of the biggest clubs in the country and if I decide to play for them it would also give me a great opportunity of making it to the national team,” Passah said.

On the offer from Salgoacar, he said that besides the team management even coach Karim Bencherifa has expressed his keenness to have him play for the club in the next season.

“In fact, this is not the first time I got an offer from Salgoacar. After SLFC was relegated in 2008-2009, I was offered to play for the club,” the star defender said.

While admitting that this is the biggest opportunity of his life, Passah said that he would take a final call in the next few weeks after he had discussed the matter with the SLFC team management.

Meanwhile, Passah also confirmed that he got an offer from Mumbai FC too.
