SHILLONG: Garo Union School and Shillong Secondary School will clash in the final (junior) of 7th I.P. Das Memorial & 4th Babu Ondromoni Dkhar Memorial Cricket tournament.
In the semifinal, Garo Union School defeated St.Xavier HS School by 6 wickets and Shillong Secondary School got the better of St.Anthony’s HS School by 11 runs..
Electing to bat after winning the toss, St.Xavier HS School piled up 100 losing 10 wickets in 21.3 overs. Cicero scored 16 runs of 16 balls while Simseng took 3 for 17 runs in 5 overs.
In reply, Garo Union School reached the target losing 4 wickets in 17 overs. Luther scored 40 of 44 balls while Shivsankar took 3 for 20 runs of 5 overs. .
In the second semi final, Shillong Secondary School scored 138 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 25 overs. Vivian scored 39 runs of 56 balls while George took 2 for 14 runs of 5 overs .In reply, St.Anthony’s HS School could score 127 for 9 in allotted 25 overs. George scored 38 of 44 balls while Vivian took 3 for 32 runs of 5 overs.
The finals will be played on Wednesday. The senior finals will be played between Jail Road Boys HS School and St.Edmund’s Higher secondary.
Deputy Chief Minister B.M.Lanong, and FR.Kharkongor, Secretary Education, Meghalaya will attend the prize distribution ceremony as chief guest and guest of honour respectively
