Congress partymen asked to gear up for upcoming elections

 SHILLONG: The Shillong City Congress Committee and the East Khasi Hills District Congress Committee jointly organized a meeting at Congress Bhavan on Tuesday which was graced by Dr (Col) Dhani Ram Shandil and Sanjay Bapna, AICC members in-charge Meghalaya; Dr DD Lapang, President, MPCC; Prestone Tynsong, Minister and President, East Khasi Hills DCC and others.

Dr Shandil spoke at length on the developmental schemes initiated by the Congress party both at the centre and the state and the contributions made thereof in nation building.

He elaborated on the virtues and ideology of the party. He extolled party workers to put into practice what the party stands for and to disseminate information of the achievements of the congress led government both at the centre and state.

The AICC secretary Bapna delved on the need to equip party workers with the requisite knowledge and to be prepared and be fully geared for the upcoming elections. He also stressed on the need of holding training camps for party workers at both levels.

Dr Lapang spoke of the grace of the Congress party. He reminded the gathering of the sacrifices made by the great leaders of the party. He urged upon the gathering to work hard, to stand strong and to focus on the target of the party.
