SHILLONG: The UDP has taken exception to a recent statement made by MPCC president DD Lapang against the UDP.
UDP working president Paul Lyngdoh issued a statement on Wednesday wherein he referred to two statements by the MPCC president — that the UDP had betrayed the Congress by forming a non-Congress Government after the 2008 election despite the two parties working together ahead of the polls, and that the UDP always criticizes the Congress before elections but would rush to knock at its doors soon after the elections are over.
Stating that both the statements were contradictory in nature, Lyngdoh wanted Lapang to clarify on which of the two statement were correct.
The UDP working president also claimed that Lapang was only confusing himself and his partymen by making such contravening statements.
