SHILLONG: The troops of Border Security Force of Meghalaya Frontier has been carrying out extensive domination on the border and apprehending militants, infiltrators and smugglers on the border despite all the odds.
The Bangladesh and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have always been raising the issue of drug/ phensedyl smuggling from the India to the Bangladesh at all the forums.
BSF has been carrying out round-the-clock domination on the border to apprehend smugglers/kingpins involved in the smuggling.
During the month of April 2012, BSF seized 688 bottles of phensedyl and 1535 bottles of liquor from the bordering areas. Besides, the troops also seized 500 Norphine injections. During the month, troops apprehended 11 smuggler out of which 07 were from Bangladesh and 3 from India. Border Security force of Meghalaya Frontier is making all efforts to check smuggling of drugs/phensedyl and any other cross border crime.
