Ghaziabad: Fixing June 4 for commencement of trial in the 2008 Aarushi-Hemraj case, a local court on Friday framed charges of murder and destruction of evidence against dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar.

The Court also charged Rajesh with misleading the investigation by filing a police complaint at Noida police station that his 14-year-old daughter, Aarushi was murdered by domestic help, Hemraj, in the case. Additional District Judge S Lal fixed June 4 for starting the trial in the case.

Holding that there was a prima-facie evidence, the judge had on Thursday ordered framing of charges of murder and destruction of evidence against the dentist couple.

Aarushi was found dead in her bedroom at Talwar’s Jalvayu Vihar residence in Noida on May 16, 2008. Next day, the body of Hemraj, who was initially suspected of killing her, was also found on the terrace of their flat.

In his six-page order on Thursday, the judge had said there is enough prima-facie evidence to start trial against accused Rajesh and Nupur under charges of Section 302 read with Section 34 (murder with common intention) of Indian Penal Code and Section 201 read with Section 34 (destruction of evidence with common intention) of the IPC.
