SHILLONG: A house guard of Assembly Speaker Charles Pyngrope was found dead in his room on Saturday morning.

The body of the house guard, Iarbor Muktieh (a police constable in the armed branch), was detected by Pyngrope and his chowkidar at around 7 in the morning, after which the Assembly Speaker immediately informed police about the matter.

When contacted, Pyngrope said that the house guard was suffering from epilepsy which might have led to his death.

Police informed that the body has been handed over to the family members after post mortem.

Pyngrope later paid a visit to the grieving household in the afternoon.
