Shillong: The KHNAM expressed concern over the autocratic attitude of the Assam police who forcefully demolished the Community Hall at Langpih besides their encroachment in Meghalaya by setting up a police out post at Khanapara.

The party has condemned this high-handedness of the Assam Government while demanding the State Government to take immediate and serious steps against such autocratic moves by the neighbouring state.

KHNAM president Pyndapborthiaw Saibon in his statement issued to the press on Sunday has demanded the State Government not to rely on mere talks with its counter part but implement strict actions like Nagaland at Merapani.

Meanwhile, the party has also extended its support to Nongkrem legislator Ardent Basaiawmoit and four other MDCs who are ready to hit the streets and stage a hunger strike to oppose the attitude of the Assam Government.
