The State Government should strive to develop more schools into ‘centres of excellence’ so that students and parents do not have to join the rat race for getting their children/wards admitted into the handful of schools which are at the zenith of the State’s educational scenario. More top notch institutions would ensure that all deserving students get admissions into schools and courses of their choice and at the same time arrest the mass exodus of students of Meghalaya to other parts of the country in their pursuit of ‘higher and better’ education.
