Financial assistance pouring for CBSE topper

Imphal: Mohammad Ismat of Manipur has topped the CBSE Class XII examination, 2012 with 99 per cent.

Md Ismat, a student of Zenith Academy, Sangaiprou , Imphal secured Md Ismat got 495 out of 500.

He got 100 marks in Chemistry, Mathematics, Home Science and Fine Arts , 97 and 98 respectively in Physics and English Core.

Ismat, the youngest of seven siblings, had to win over poverty as his primary school teacher father had no money to admit him in a good school.

Md Ismat said secretary of Zenith School S Manaoton Singh came forward and helped him financially to continue his study.

He said the credit for his success goes to his teachers, parents and almighty Allah.

He studied for about six hours a day and during examination read for ten hours.

He said his aim is to become a scientist and would love to pursue a graduation in physics and become an IAS officer.

Mr Manaoton announced that the school would take care of all the financial requirements of Md Ismat towards accomplishing his ultimate goal in life.

He said Ismat has shown that a boy with a humble upbringing can reach the pinnacle if one works hard.

Chairman of Manipur State Minorities Commission, A Halim Chowdhury also announced to extend all possible assistance to Md Ismat in shaping his career.

Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Abdul Nasir announced a cash reward of Rs 1,11,111.

MLA Nongthombam Biren gave assistance of Rs 20,000.

Congratulatory messages and assurance for help were pouring in for the bright student. (UNI)
