SHILLONG: Following suit from the Khasi Jaintia Deficit School Teachers (KJDST), the Khasi Jaintia Higher Secondary Adhoc Teachers Association (KJHSATA) has set a two-week deadline for the State Government to release the grant for the Assistant lecturers pending since January. KJHSATA general secretary Sainbor Lyngdoh in a statement issued here said, “If our demands are not met, the Association would go for agitation.”

“Sad to say that or high expectations have been neglected by the Ministers forcing us to call for agitation,” he added.

Earlier, the deficit school teachers of the State under the umbrella of the KJDSTA had threatened to resort to a series of agitation from next month if the government fails to release their salary pending since January including release of the pending 30 per cent of the arrears.
