Pala awards meritorious students

JOWAI: Union Minister of State for Water Resources and Minority Affair, Vincent H Pala gave away a cheque of Rs. 50000 each to three SSLC toppers of Jaintia Hills District in Jowai here on Tuesday.

The awards were handed over by Union Minister for DoNER and Parliamentary Affair, Education Minister, Dr. RC Laloo and Pala to school Principals respectively at the inaugural function of the College building of the Thomas Jones Synod College, Jowai

The recipients were Lamdeimon Pde of K.J.P. Synod Mihngi Higher Secondary School,Jowai who secured 534 marks with distinction in M,S&T,SS,HEd,Kh and stood in the 14th position in the first twenty list, Eleonora Feodore Chullai of Q. C. Springside English Secondary School,Jowai in the 20th position secured 528 mark with distinction in M,S&T,SS,HEd, Kh and a student of North Liberty Secondary School, Jowai, Johnmin Pohlong a private candidate in the 16th position securing 532 marks with distinction in M,S&T,SS,HEd and Kh.

Pala said, “We are proud to have students who are excellence and with the awards he hope students of the District will aim higher and come out with flying colours in the near future”.
