Landslides disrupt surface communication

Itanagar: Landslides triggered by torrential rain since last couple of days have disrupted surface communication between Dibang and Lower Dibang Valley districts in Arunachal Pradesh. Anini and Roing, the headquarters of both the districts have been cut off since the last three days due to blockade at several points along the road caused by heavy downpour, official sources said on Tuesday. Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner Abu Tayeng, who is personally monitoring the situation, instructed the Border Road Organization (BRO) to restore the road communication immediately. (PTI)
