60-hour Assam dist bandh ends peacefully

Haflong: A 60-hour shutdown called in Dima Hasao district of Assam ended peacefully on Thursday, evoking near-total response in the hills district.

The ASDC Dima Hasao District Committee, ASDC Mahila Sangathan, Dimasa Students’ Union and Dimasa Women Society had called for the 60-hour bandh, which began from 5am of June 5.

These organisations were demanding immediate release of jailed Mohet Hojai, Former Chief Executive Member of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, immediate withdrawal of NIA cases against Hojai, regular payment of salaries to Employees’ of DHAC. (UNI)
