Guwahati: Train movement was affected in lower Assam today as tracks were blocked by picketers under the banner of People’s Joint Action Committee for Bodoland Movement, demanding a separate Bodoland state. The picketers squatted on railway tracks at Rangiya, Nalbari and Gossaigaon for several hours since Friday morning as part of the 12-hour railway blockade. A number of trains, including the Rajdhani Express, were delayed due to the blockade. The PJACBM staged the demonstration in support of their demand for a separate Bodoland state and warned of intensified agitation if their demand is not met. (UNI)
