Shillong: The Dorbar Shnong Malki has resolved to request the continuance of the services of the Shillong Supplementary Public Transport Services (SSPTS) vehicles in the area considering the petitions received from over 741 residents of the locality regarding the same.

Malki Rangbah Shnong HP Offlyn Dohling said that notices were received from the Taxi Owners and Drivers Association last month opposing SSPTS services in Malki. “In view of the development, a meeting of the Dorbar Shnong was convened on May 21 where residents of the locality submitted a petition in support of the continuance of SSPTS services here”, Dohling stated.

After considering both the representations, Dohling informed that the Dorbar Shnong has decided to request the Chief Executive Officer, Shillong Municipal Board to provide the services of SSPTS vehicles from Iewduh via Khyndai Lad entering Malki from Malki point with stoppage for disembarking at Nongshilliang while proceeding to Khliehshnong and Kharmalki coming out via Law College to Umshyrpi (Dhankheti) in front of Bawri Mansion.
