SHILLONG: At the backdrop of the alleged increasing high-handedness on part of the police officials from Assam, the KSU Laskein Circle has demanded for a police outpost at Moolober village while stressing on the need to upgrade the Raliang out post to a full fledged police station.

In a memorandum submitted to Home Minister HDR Lyngdoh here on Monday, KSU Laskein Circle President Fivestarson Suiam said that there is urgent need to set up the police outpost of Moolaber village in Block I especially with Assam police trying to spread insecurity among the local villagers residing in the area.

“The Assam police is threatening and assaulting local villagers and we need to have the police outpost to protect them from the harassment,” Suiam said.

The KSU Lasken Circle President added that with the growing number of crimes, time is ripe to upgrade the Raliang police outpost to a police station.

“The Raliang outpost was set up almost 20 years ago. It is high time to upgrade the same in order to check the growing criminal activities around the area,” Suiam said.

Meanwhile, the KSU have also demanded the early completion of Kuriliya Bridge at River Myntang which was conceptualized in 2005.
