NONGSTOIN: The KSU (West Khasi Hills) met the Deputy Commissioner of the district on Monday to enquire about the action taken by the state government on the issue of enrolment of dubious voters to the electorate in the state.

On Friday last the KSU along with the FKJGP and the Hynniewtrep National Youth Forum (HNYF) had met the chief minister Dr Mukul Sangma to discuss various measures required to check the enrolment of the ‘dubious’ voters According to the Union, Dr. Sangma had assured that he would instruct all district heads to deal with the problem

Surprisingly, during their talks with the DC the KSU (West Khasi Hills) led by its President John Fischer Nongsiang found out that no such order regarding the checking of dubious voters in the district has been received by the district authorities.

‘The order to check the enrolment of dubious voters has been issued to all the district heads of the state but interestingly, West Khasi Hills is yet to receive the same. The reason for the delay or neglect is yet to be ascertained,” sources said.
