New Delhi: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma will leave for London on Sunday to attend the two-day Securing Asia 2012 security conference starting Monday.

The Securing Asia meet would bring together senior representatives from academia, government and industry to identify solutions to the security threats faced today.

Meanwhile, Dr Sangma had arrived here earlier this week to participate in a series of meetings called by the Congress party ahead of the Presidential polls next month.

Considering the fact that the contest will be between Pranab Mukherjee and Purno Sangma, role of Mukul and other chief ministers from the region assumes significance in the race to Raisina Hills.
