SHILLONG: Four unidentified occupants of an auto-rickshaw (ML-10A-2408) assaulted one Mukul Debnath and one driver of truck (AS-10C-0583) which was parked at Umling Petrol Pump, Ribhoi District on Friday at around 5am. The occupants later abducted the sister of Debnath and raped her. In this connection, police arrested two persons, Lamjingshai Tangseng and Ronaldo Jana. In another such incident, one Phiarlin Wanniang raped a four-year-old girl at Laitumsaw, East Khasi Hills. Later police arrested the accused person.
Meanwhile, in a series of attempted rape one Johnny Mawlong, alias, Sultan Sah, 18, attempted to rape a woman, 45, at Umiarong village, Ribhoi District. In another such incident, a 17-year-old attempted to rape one 12 year minor girl in his residence at Laban.
