New Delhi: A fire broke out Sunday afternoon in the home ministry’s office at North Block here but was soon brought under control, officials said.
The fire erupted on one of the higher floors, a Delhi Fire Service official said. Nearly 10 fire engines battled the flames.
“We received the call around 2.20 p.m. and the fire was doused within 10 minutes after the fire tenders reached the spot. No one was reported injured in the incident,” Chief Fire Official A. K. Sharma said.
“The fire broke out in the balcony due to a short circuit. There is no damage to the minister’s office nor any files were damaged,” he added. (IANS)
