Mysore: Dismissing reports of early elections, Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda on Friday expressed confidence that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government would complete its full term.
Speaking to newspersons here after inspections bus facilities for the Chamundi Hills on the eve ‘Ashada Fridays’, he said as long as he was the Chief Minister, he would continue to work for the state and people.
Asked about his New Delhi visit, Mr Gowda said, “as the Chief Minister it was planning to go to Delhi. However, there is no plan to meet the party high command’.
The Delhi trip was cancelled due to some personal work and to attend a marriage at Kodagu.
Referring to some legislators who were raising their voice against him, Mr Gowda said the media wanted some issue for them to report.
To a query, he said he had discussed the issue of Cabinet expansion and filling up vacant ministerial berths with the party high command.
“We will probably go ahead with the Cabinet expansion after the Presidential polls”, he said dropping broad hints that he will continue in power. (PTI)
