The Under Secretary to the Labour department has clarified that in the present processing of papers under the inter-state Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Service),Act 1979, only the workers coming from outside the state are required to submit their relevant documents under the act through their employers. However, the genuine non tribals who reside in the state and possess valid EPIC are exempted from the purview of the act.
