Krishnagar: A local court here on Saturday sentenced a man to life for murdering his teenaged daughter at Panshila Brahmanpuri in Nadia district two years ago.
Additional Session Judge, fast track court, Shanta Dutta Paul also awarded Nikunja Das 10 years of imprisonment for attempting to murder his wife on the same day. Nikunja hit Dipali with a scimitar, a type of sword, seriously injuring her.
Their 16-year-old daughter Mamoni, who was in an adjacent room, rushed in to save her mother and an angry Nikunja hit her repeatedly with the same weapon killing her on the spot. (PTI)
