NONGPOH: The 12-hour night road blockade call by the Confederation of Ri-Bhoi People (CoRP) in Ri Bhoi district which came into effect at 7 pm on Thursday witnessed stray incidents of stone pelting on vehicles and lobbing of petrol bombs.

Many vehicles were damaged in the attack on NH-40. There was, however, no report of any casualty or injury to any person.

Meanwhile, Umiam Police arrested 14 members of the CoRP Eastern Zone in arson-related cases. CoRP vice president Friday Jalong demanded immediate and unconditional release of its members and threatened intensified agitation if the CoRP members were not released immediately.
