JOWAI: The Jaintia Youth Federation (JYF) has called for two days night road blockade on July 18 and 19 from 7 pm to 5 am in Jaintia Hills District.
JYF president P Majaw informed that the night road blockade was called to pressurize the government on the creation of the new district in Khliehriat.
“The government should issue a notification and also lay the foundation stone for the new district,” the JYF said.
The JYF informed that the agitation was called after SDO Khliehriat Sub-Division failed to provide them with the government’s notification over creation of Khliehriat district.
“The night road blockade is the first course of our action and if the government fails to respond we will take harder steps,” Majaw said.
