SHILLONG: After being virtually subbed by the UDP on the issue supporting UPA presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma has taken a call not to convene the MUA meeting to discuss the Presidential poll and instead he has decided to call a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) on July 18. Congress sources on Sunday informed that the Chief Minister has decided not to convene the MUA since the UDP has made it clear not to review its decision to support the BJP-backed nominee Purno A Sangma. According to Congress sources, Dr Sangma convened the CLP meeting a day before the Presidential election.
