While the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma is claiming of transforming Meghalaya into a model state, a portion of the road in the capital city wears a sordid look due to the incessant rain for the past two days. There were many three wheelers and motorcycles who met with accidents by loosing balance and toppling over in the pothole in Rilbong junction (INSET). Besides this, there were traffic snarls in the area too on Monday. The particular potholes in the junction has been filled up more than once in the past one year but often the road opens up raising a serious question on the quality of road construction done in the city. The incident comes at a time when the good roads of the city are being further improved while the bad roads are often filled up with sand and stones only to be loose up after few months of construction.
