SHILLONG:  A reformed Langsning FC displayed a tight performance against MLP FT, beating them 2-0 on Wednesday. The addition of foreign striker Joel Sunday Ayeni appeared to make a significant change to Langsning’s attack, as he and Mayosing worked in tandem. Incidentally, the duo scored both goals.

Attacking early, Langsning almost scored a first goal in the 10th minute when Laiabachandra Singh headed a pass that barely missed the goal. However, the lead was in the offing for Langsning and, in the 23rd minute, Joel Ayeni made a short pass to Mayosing who caught the keeper off-guard.

Following a cross by Barland Syngkon, MLP’s Meker Suting produced a header that strayed away from the goal by only a foot.

The fate of the match was sealed in the 60th minute after Joel Ayeni dribbled through the midfield and defence to get close enough to MLP’s custodian Allwyn and push the ball past him.

MLP had a chance with a free kick later on, but Langsning’s goalie pushed the ball away.
