7-year-old girl caught up in false promise traceless

Imphal: A seven-year-old girl has gone missing since July 13 after she was reportedly taken away by a woman who had promised the parents to provide her education.

The missing girl, Khagembam Anjeta, also known as Abema, daughter of Kh Amuchao, is a resident of Imphal West’s Iroisemba under Lamphel Police Station.

Her father in a complaint lodged with the Lamphel Police Station said her daughter was taken away by one Chongtham Sorojini, wife of Ch Lukhoi of Imphal East’s Khurai Lairik Yengbam Leikai on July 13 on the pretext of sending her to a school. Whereabouts of her daughter is still unknown since then.

Amuchao went to meet her daughter at the residence of Sorijini on July 16 but found Anjeta missing following which he lodged a missing complaint at the police station the same day.

The complained also mentioned that apart from Sorojini, her husband Lukhoi and another woman named Lairikyengbam Kabita are involved in the disappearance case of Anjeta. (NNN)
