Scheme launch

Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma will launch a scheme on “Women Economic Empowerment through Financial Inclusion and Entrepreneurship” at a conclave on July 20 at 10 am in the Block Development Office, Mawsynram C&RD Block, Masynram.

Workshop

Governor RS Mooshahary will inaugurate a consultative workshop on the topic “Citizen Centric e-governance” at Yojana Auditorium,Main Secretariat on Friday. Chief Secretary WMS Pariat, Dr Rajendra Kumar, Joint Secretary Department of Electronics and Information Technology besides others will attend the programme.

Red Cross

The St Mary’s College will organize the 1st pledge taking ceremony of the Youth Red Cross programme, St Mary’s college unit on July 20 at 12 noon in the college auditorium.

Death anniv

The Pynthorbah Unit Youth & Mahila Congress Committee on Tuesday organised a tree plantation programme at Golf Course 14th Fairway and an inter-school Khasi poetry recitation competition to commemorate the 177th death anniversary of U Tirot Sing Syiem. The programme was graced by GAD minister AL Hek as chief guest and OL Nongtdu as guest of honour. Hek in his speech spoke on contributions of U Tirot Sing Syiem . The Minister handed over a financial aid of Rs2,50,000 to the Dorbar Shnong Pynthorbah for the completion of the Community Hall. He also donated Rs20,000 each to Don Bosco Bakhuid SHG Pynthorbah, Khriam Brothers Pynthorbah, Enigmatic Band Nongmynsong and a computer set to Pynthorbah L.P. School .
