Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday welcomed Rahul Gandhi’s decision to play a larger role in the Congress and the government saying the country wants a youth leader who can take forward the traditions of the party.
“It is an appropriate time for Rahul Gandhi to take more responsibility. This will strengthen the party and the country. I am very happy at his decision and extend my best wishes,” Gogoi said here.
Gogoi has also invited Rahul to visit Assam
“We want a strong youth leader. The country also wants a strong youth leader. We want a youth leader who can take forward the traditions of the Congress party.”
He also said Rahul’s decision will attract more youths to the party. (PTI)
