Missing

An elderly woman (50), identified as Poiwan Phawa of Mukhaialong village has gone missing since 3 am on Friday. The relative informed that the woman might have drowned in river Myntdu located about 1 km from the village. Members of the village along with Ladrymbai police and personnel of the Fire Service have conducted a search work on Friday and till evening the body could not be located.

Gratuitous Relief

The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills has released payment of gratuitous relief to those affected victims who residential houses were damaged by fire, landslide and cyclonic storm which occurred during the year 2008,2009,2010 and 2011 under Mylliem block.

Science seminar

The Laban Bengalee Boys Higher Secondary School organised the 9th Inter-School Invitation Science Seminar on Friday. 20 schools from the city participated in the seminar. Meanwhile, the 9th Inter-School invitational debate championship was also organized by the School on Thursday wherein 11 city schools participated.
