We are back, declares HNLC

 Shillong: The proscribed the Hynniewtrep National liberation Council (HNLC) has claimed that it is back again and this time with cadres who are well trained in handling sophisticated weapons and can operate from any kind of terrain.

Posting this claim in its facebook page, ‘The Voice of The Hynniewtrep’ on Sunday, the HNLC has owned up the responsibility of exchange of fire with police in Jaintia Hills district’s Kongung village on Saturday. A picture of cadres holding guns substantiated with in big bold letters–‘We are back’ is the highlight of the page

“The Council would back it up with more operations in the future”, the outfit said adding that its cadres are present everywhere in the Hynniewtrep and would keep track of all illegal activities that are “spoiling the roots of our culture”.

Through this page, the HNLC has issued a warning ‘to all those people of the Hynniewtrep who have become police informers’ while stating that they would impose extreme punishment on them, which may even lead to death penalty.

The page further stated that the youth of the entire Hynniewtrep who are involved into partying, drinking, and creating nuisance in public would be punished accordingly. The HNLC also asked the females to stop wearing provocative dresses and adapt themselves to wearing clothes which are decent in nature while warning the people involved in flesh trade and also owners of hotels.
